Job Title: Front-of-House Service Associate

Position Type: Part-Time (Approximately 4-5 hours per day, Thursdays to Tuesdays)

Position Overview

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and reliable Service Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for providing a welcoming environment for every customer. Your primary focus will be handling transactions and providing excellent customer service, while also ensuring the storefront remains clean, organized, and inviting.

This is a part-time position perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys interacting with the community. There are two positions available split between morning and afternoon shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with menu selections.
• Accurately process transactions using the POS (Point of Sale) system.
• Package bakery items and prepare coffee/beverages according to quality standards.

Cleanliness & Maintenance:

• Maintain a tidy front-of-house area, including wiping down tables, counters, and seating areas.
• Ensure display cases are clean and aesthetically organized.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash bins.
• Assist with washing dishes and equipment as needed to support the production team.

Inventory & Quality Control:

• Monitor stock levels of front-of-house supplies (napkins, cups, lids) and restock as necessary.
• Ensure all food items are handled and stored according to safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

• Excellent Customer Service Skills: Natural ability to build rapport with customers and handle inquiries with a positive attitude.
• Reliability: Strong punctual habits and a commitment to your scheduled shifts.
• Detail-Oriented: Ability to maintain a clean workspace even during busy periods.
• Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing for long periods and performing light lifting (e.g., boxes of supplies or flour sacks).
• Food Safety: Knowledge of food safety standards and provincial health regulations is considered a significant asset.
• Experience: Previous experience in retail, food service, or a bakery setting is preferred but not required.
