Frontend Developer

We are an ambitious and growing Irish software company, funded by the world’s leading news agency, The Associated Press. Our customers include global brands, PR agencies, public institutions and media leaders.

We are looking for a talented Frontend Developer to help us build the defining technology for showing what stories and events matter each day, in every language and category of content.

The Role:

You will work in a team of Product Owners, UI/UX designers and Backend Developers to build products that our customers will love to use. As part of this team you will be involved in all areas of the product development life cycle, from deciding what to build given an understanding of customer needs, to pushing features into production.

The successful candidate will have experience in executing rapidly from concept to completion. They will have good communication skills and be ready to get to work in our fast-moving startup environment. An inherent curiosity for what we do and the technologies we use is imperative.

You’ll also collaborate in decisions on our platform direction, build an understanding of what we can do, and how we can push out the limits of what NewsWhip’s technology is capable of. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of full segments of the NewsWhip architecture.

Ideally you’ll have the following

• 3+ years of software development experience
• 3+ years experience in building web applications with frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS/SASS and Typescript.
• 3+ years of experience with common front-end technologies, such as Angular, React, Webpack, Babel, and Gulp etc.
• 3+ years of experience of front-end test frameworks such as Karma, Jest, Mocha, Jasmine.

Nice-to-Haves

• Working knowledge of Node.js
• Scala and Play framework
• Experience developing data heavy interfaces
