About the Team
The Financials Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining Financial User Interface Components at Workday, enabling our Applications teams to rapidly create consistent, scalable, and intuitive applications across the full suite of Workday Financial products. About the Role
As a Frontend Software Development Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering enhancements to, and creating new, UI components and API’s in the Financials Application set that improve the user experience for millions of Workday users worldwide. You will join a full stack team dedicated to improving performance and platform capabilities
Key Responsibilities:
Write and maintain robust, efficient, and maintainable code using modern UI frameworks and tools, including TypeScript and React
Write reliable unit, integration, and system-level tests that run on the continuous delivery pipeline
Demonstrate technical awareness, vision, and influencing skills in your interactions with people outside your immediate team and organization
Build prototypes to inform the development approach for new features
Understand and promote industry-standard methodology
Collaborate with and support other team members through pair programming, code reviews, knowledge shares, hackathons, and more
Assist with technical design and architecture meetings with the team and perform peer code reviews
About You
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of frontend development experience in enterprise software
2+ years of experience developing web applications in HTML5/CSS/JavaScript using modern frameworks and libraries
2+ years of experience working with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks
Other Qualifications
Proficient in software development, with a deep understanding of designing, programming, documenting, testing, and maintaining applications and frameworks using modern UI technologies
Experienced in code testing, with the ability to design and implement thorough testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing, using modern tools and frameworks to ensure high-quality, reliable software
A collaborative team member who values software development as a team activity, with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment through effective communication, pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
Solid understanding of UX best practices, with a focus on delivering user-centered solutions that improve the experiences of customers
A continuous learner who has a desire to develop and improve your craft, with experience mentoring and sharing knowledge with others on the team
Comfortable working in an agile, continuous delivery environment, with experience writing reliable tests that integrate into CD pipelines
Some backend experience, or a curiosity about venturing into backend development when needed to solve end-to-end problems
A passion for innovation and the ability to contribute to shaping the technical and product roadmaps

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
