Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Full Charge Bookkeeper with strong bookkeeping and accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in double-entry bookkeeping, financial reporting, and QuickBooks (Desktop), and will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, payable, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting. We are looking for a professional who can work independently, is detail-oriented, and ensures accuracy in maintaining our financial records. Additionally, the candidate should be able to collaborate effectively with team members and external partners to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-charge bookkeeping using QuickBooks Desktop to maintain financial records, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Prepare and process accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collections, while following up on overdue payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and provide detailed reports for management review.
- Assist with tax preparation, ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Perform regular data entry using 10-key typing skills to enter financial data into QuickBooks.
- Communicate and collaborate with external accountants during tax seasons and audits.
- Analyze financial transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting based on historical data.
- Work effectively in a team environment with other accounting professionals, management, and external partners to achieve organizational goals and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Required Experience and Skills
- 3+ years of proven experience as a full charge bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role (preferred).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel (advanced skills preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and understanding of debits, credits, and financial statements.
- Ability to independently manage multiple financial tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with tax preparation and compliance is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a team, maintaining open communication and collaborating effectively to meet shared objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tax filing and external audits.
- Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.
High-level analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
