Full-Stack Developer, Claims Solutions

Insurance is all about safety. And it’s all about IT. There are over 1200 members in the IT community at If. Most of our tech teams are working in an Agile setup consisting of tribes and cross-functional squads to enable an optimal environment to reach our shared objectives and key results. In Claims Solutions we work with technical solutions that have the power to turn misfortunes into possibilities. We help our customers to rebuild and recover when the unexpected happens. We use technology to provide customer self-service, intelligent claims process and overall smooth journey for the customers.

About the team

Together with your caring and tightly coworking team, you will be ensuring that even in the stressful moment customers all over Nordic countries will have peaceful feeling of seeing and managing their claims digitally. You will be developing the Web UI components and backend system, which are significant part of our digital self-service channels. The team will also start to provide APIs for the native mobile app to enable the smooth customer experience. The team, or as we call it, squad is a cross-functional group consisting of different roles both tech and business. That gives lot of autonomy for the squad, but they still collaborate actively with other teams. Developer colleagues are all located in Turku but there are squad members also in Espoo and Stockholm.

About the role

You will be developing new features in customer facing solutions, tweaking the existing ones, killing bugs, taking care of deployments, participating into design and architecture, and improving way of working together with the squad. So basically, what a full stack developer does in an Agile team. You most definitely also get to know to your colleagues and have some good laughs together. You will have a chance to collaborate with a few of other teams with whom you will create an outstanding customer experience.

Who are you?

You already have at least 4+ years of professional experience in software development. You are familiar with C# and .NET Core while those are the ground basis for our solutions. You are strongly capable in utilizing your React and Redux skills with maybe a little bit taste of Typescript. REST and SOAP means you more than relaxing bath and BFF is somewhat familiar concept, or you are eager to learn it.

You might also have experience on Event sourcing, Unit testing, Web Components, OIDC and OAUTH2.0 or otherwise we’ll just add these as topics for your own growth goals. You are keen on using competence development time to upgrade your skills on regular basis.

You enjoy working with complex problems together with your fellow developers. You actively share your knowledge and ideas and support others while learning yourself. You love Clean Code and Agile is a mindset for you, not just a set of artifacts and ceremonies. You communicate fluently with English, and maybe also with one of the Nordic languages.
