Café Montaigne is seeking a full-time Baker & Sandwich Preparation Specialist to support daily café and catering operations. This role is responsible for baking and finishing pastry items and assembling sandwiches and wraps in accordance with established café standards. Applicants must have 1–2 years of professional kitchen experience.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will carry out baking and sandwich preparation duties with consistency, efficiency, and attention to quality, while maintaining food safety and workplace standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Bake and finish pastry items according to café standards and daily requirements
• Operate ovens safely and monitor baking times and temperatures
• Assemble sandwiches and wraps following standardized recipes and portion guidelines
• Complete daily kitchen prep for café service and catering orders
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
• Follow food safety regulations, workplace safety policies, and internal procedures
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, café, or bakery
• Experience with baking and oven operation
• Experience with sandwich or cold-line preparation preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Ability to meet the physical demands of a kitchen environment
• Food Handler Certification required

Employment Details

• Full-time position
• Morning, weekend, and statutory holiday availability may be required
