Fundraising Officer (Voluntary Position)

Job Details

The International Association for Democracy (IAD) is an NGO that works to defend and advance democracy around the globe. We link people with their governments and lobby governments to promote, strengthen and safeguard democratic institutions, processes, norms and values at home and abroad. We also work towards raising public awareness about the current state of democracy around the world and what should be done to better defend and promote democracy. IAD is looking for a Fundraising Officer to join the fundraising team to help us grow as an association. This role is expected to take 3-5 hours per week.

Objectives of this Role

  • Assist in the overall work of raising money for the NGO
  • Research and contact potential donors, maintain donor relations
  • Write grant application
  • Deliver fundraising campaigns
  • Create and maintain a budget for the association
  • Maintain a sound economic behaviour within the organisation

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience with fundraising or auditing (in personal or professional capacity)
  • Experience in event planning and networking skills
  • Basic understanding of Google Workspace and collaboration tools on Google Docs
  • Passion for promoting democracy, rule of law and human rights

Preferred Qualifications

  • Auditing experience would be useful, but not needed
