Qualcomm is seeking an Intern – MLOps Ecosystem Engineer to start in 2026 for up to 8 months to join the Ecosystem Team in the Cork Technology Centre, Ireland.

You will work in a global team focused on enabling and optimizing machine learning workflows across Qualcomm’s AI ecosystem. The role involves building, integrating, and maintaining tools and frameworks for model serving, monitoring, and orchestration. You will gain hands-on experience with MLOps platforms such as Kubeflow, MLflow, and KServe, and work on containerized environments leveraging Docker and Kubernetes. This internship offers exposure to end-to-end ML lifecycle management, from deployment to observability, using technologies like Prometheus, Grafana, and programming in Python with optional exposure to C++.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and maintaining MLOps pipelines for model deployment and monitoring.

Work with Kubeflow, MLflow, and KServe to streamline ML workflows.

Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

Configure and monitor system health using Prometheus and Grafana.

Collaborate on automation scripts and tooling in Python and Bash.

Contribute to performance optimization and debugging of ML services.

Gain exposure to OS-level concepts, threading, and resource management in distributed environments.

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

Strong curiosity and enthusiasm for cloud-native and MLOps technologies.

Ability to learn quickly and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Exposure to Python programming.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.

Basic understanding of containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Exposure to ML lifecycle tools (Kubeflow, MLflow, KServe).

Experience with Git, JSON, YAML, and scripting languages (Bash).

Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

Exposure to C++ programming (good to have).

Understanding of OS fundamentals and threading concepts.

Education Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must be a current student (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field) in the middle or towards the end of your university studies looking for an Intern/co-op placement as a mandatory part of your degree for 6+ months.

Candidates must legally be able to work in Ireland and be registered as a current student.
