The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Garden Center Assistant Team Lead to oversee day-to-day operations, lead and train a small team, and ensure our plants and store always look their best. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and cares deeply about quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily garden center operations
• Lead, coach, and train team members. Educate team members on plant care, gardening techniques, and related products.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service. Deliver knowledgeable, friendly, and solution-based service to all customers. Resolve customer issues promptly and courteously. Lead your team by example
• Perform and oversee daily plant maintenance to ensure plants remain healthy and visually appealing. Ensure all products and plants are properly priced, labeled, and well-maintained at all times
• Monitor plant health and address issues as they arise
• Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive store and outdoor sales areas
• Take pride in ensuring work is done right by your team and that plants and displays consistently look well cared for. Plan and execute visually appealing, sales-driven product displays.
• Communicate regularly with ownership and your team

Qualifications

• Strong interest and knowledge of plants, gardening, and horticulture
• Garden center, nursery, or retail experience
• Reliable, organized, and customer-focused
• Comfortable leading a small team
• Able to work weekends and holidays
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, unload trucks and work outdoors in any weather
