The Garden Educator will play a key role in delivering hands-on educational experiences through Gardopia Gardens’ various programs. This position involves working directly with local schools, churches, restaurants, community centers, and residents to teach garden-based education, assist in garden maintenance, and promote healthy living practices. As part of the Gardopia team, the Garden Educator will help to develop new programs, recruit and coordinate volunteers, and help maintain and create new garden spaces throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Garden Education Classes: Facilitate educational sessions on gardening, nutrition, and sustainability for students and community members.
- Develop Curriculum: Assist in designing and creating new classes, educational materials, and activities related to gardening and healthy living.
- Garden Maintenance & Design: Help maintain existing garden spaces and collaborate on the design and installation of new gardens in the community.
- Community Outreach & Marketing: Promote Gardopia Gardens through outreach efforts such as public speaking, social media, and marketing campaigns.
- Volunteer Coordination: Lead volunteer groups, ensuring smooth operations during garden projects and educational activities.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with other staff members to meet program goals and support Gardopia’s mission.
- PR & Event Promotion: Develop strategies to raise awareness and build community engagement through special events and media outreach.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 28 per week
