Summary

We are seeking a skilled Gauge Calibration Technician to join our team in Essex, CT. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the precision and reliability of our products, contributing to our commitment to excellence and innovation. Your expertise will help us maintain our reputation as a leader in fluid control solutions.
Responsibilities

  • Calibrate measurement instruments to precise tolerances.
  • Examine gauges and other measuring instruments for wear and make recommendations for repair or make required repairs as needed.
  • Plan and prioritize sequence of testing and calibration to maintain manufacturers’ and quality department’s specified calibration schedules.
  • Review work orders and identify gauges to be calibrated. Obtain gauges and set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test and calibrate gauges. Where necessary, calibrate gauges on machines in various locations.
  • Verify accuracy of gauges and calibrate instruments to include, but not exclusive to, pressure gauges, dial indicators, fixed gauges, drop gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Disassemble and reassemble of measuring instruments with hand tools.
  • Record data and submit documentation for data entry.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Detect and report defective materials, improper operations, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to supervisory personnel.
  • Inspect parts to extremely close tolerances using a variety of inspection equipment.
  • Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Experience with digital measuring equipment, pressure gauges, dial indicators, fixed gauges, drop gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Quality Control in manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of required gauge calibration schedules and processes for maintaining quality testing.
  • Mechanical aptitude for repairing instruments and testing equipment.
  • Strong visual acuity and mental attention, finger dexterity, and hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems with measurement devices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 46 per week

Education:
