Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a General Diesel Engine Machining Technician, where you'll play a vital role in precision machining and maintenance of diesel engine components. Duties
- Operate CNC machining centers, including CNC lathes and milling machines, utilizing Fanuc controls for precise engine component fabrication
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accuracy
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and perform necessary adjustments for optimal performance
- Conduct electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes to create intricate engine parts with tight tolerances
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions
- Perform assembly of machined components using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and tooling setups
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to lean manufacturing principles and safety protocols; operate forklifts as needed for material handling
Experience
- Proven experience in CNC programming and operation within a manufacturing or machining environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and related components
- Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and the use of precision measurement instruments
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar programs for design review and modifications
- Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, and Fanuc controls
- Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes is a plus but not required
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for machining tolerances and measurements
- Prior experience working with tooling setup, assembly processes, welding techniques, and lean manufacturing practices
