General Maintenance/Porter, Full-Time (Day Shift)

About the Position

As a Porter, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, supply deliveries, resident moves, and room set-up tasks as assigned.

Pay: $18.00/hour, plus an additional $1.50/hour on weekends!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Move furnishings and set-up rooms for activities and events in the facility.
• Assist with internal elder moves; relocates furniture and equipment as needed.
• Make deliveries of mail, packages, and other items to various locations on campus as required.
• Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor, including trash, recycling, and biohazard removal in apartment buildings.
• Power washes trash and recycling containers on established schedule.
• Conduct general maintenance tasks as assigned (hanging pictures, changing light bulbs, replacing filters, etc.).
• Maintain equipment in proper working order, including performing basic preventative care.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance
• Ability to use force to move objects: 10 lbs. constantly, 30 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to use cell phone or tablet to manage daily work assignments
• Possess general l knowledge of computer systems with the ability to navigate basic Windows programs
• Ability to follow universal precautions procedures, including use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
