General Manager

Position Overview

The Terrazzo Tile and Marble Association of Canada (TTMAC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the association's daily operations. The General Manager (GM) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations, programs, and strategic initiatives of The Terrazzo Tile and Marble Association of Canada (TTMAC). Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the GM ensures the organization fulfills its mission, vision, and goals while maintaining operational and financial sustainability.

The GM plays a vital role in managing staff, engaging members, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and organizing programs, events, and services that align with the needs of the nonprofit sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

1. Implement and manage organizational processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

2. Oversee the association's day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and adherence to organizational policies.

Board Collaboration

1. Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop, execute, and evaluate strategic plans.

2. Provide regular updates, performance reports, and recommendations to the Board.

Financial Management

1. Develop, manage, and monitor the annual budget to ensure financial health and sustainability.

2. Oversee accounting functions, including expense tracking, reporting, and compliance, using tools like QuickBooks.

3. Identify and pursue funding opportunities, sponsorships, and partnerships to support organizational growth.

Membership Engagement

1. Build and maintain strong relationships with current members, ensuring their needs are met through programs, services, and events.

2. Develop and implement strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.

Event Management

1. Plan and execute conferences, workshops, training programs, and other events that serve the association's mission and membership.

2. Oversee technical testing programs and other industry-specific initiatives.

Team Leadership

1. Recruit, train, and manage staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

2. Set performance goals, provide mentorship, and ensure staff alignment with organizational objectives.

Advocacy and Industry Relations

1. Serve as the organization's primary representative, building relationships with stakeholders, industry leaders, and government entities.

2. Advocate for the nonprofit’s mission and promote the organization within relevant sectors.

Qualifications:

Education

1. Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience

1. 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, preferably within a nonprofit or association setting.

2. Demonstrated success in operations management, financial oversight, and team leadership.

Skills and Competencies

1. Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

3. Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

4. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

5. Experience in event planning and execution.

6. Knowledge of nonprofit governance and best practices.

Additional Requirements

1. Availability to travel occasionally for events, conferences, or stakeholder meetings.

2. Valid driver’s license.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
