Role Overview:

Sodexo is seeking a strong General Manager for the United States Marine Corps at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in Yuma, Arizona. The General Manager will report directly to the District Manager and will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of all culinary operations for one of it's Mess Halls.

The United States Marine Corps has high quality level food service expectations, and this account will require delivery of exceptional quality food service. Within Government Services, contract compliance is critical; food safety and customer service are high priorities. Extensive safety audits and customer surveys are conducted at each unit on a weekly basis. Sodexo offers innovative and healthy concepts while keeping to a strict profit and loss financial statement.

What You'll Do:

Be a people person with a strong focus with maintaining positive client relations; a solid manager/leader who is perceptive and has attention to details that make a difference – quality and presentation of food – customer service –
Be SERVICE focused– including providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment.
Be proficient in use of online Food Management Systems for menu/recipe planning, ordering and inventory;
Demonstrate proven financial acumen/success: Food costs/ labor costs, budgets;
Support workplace inclusion activities;
Provide team leadership & training.

What You Bring:

have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement and leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
have a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
have high volume food service experience;
have contract food service experience, preferred;
have experience managing staff in a union environment, preferred;
can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and have a passion for a high level of customer service; and/or
prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 5 years
