About the Role:
As the General Manager Actuarial Pricing & Data Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Technical division. Your expertise will drive advanced pricing strategies, enhance natural perils modelling, and lead our efforts in catastrophe risk management. This is your chance to make a significant impact by developing state-of-the-art processes and solutions that set us apart in the industry.

Other key aspects of the role:
  • Leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge pricing methodologies.
  • Enhancing our capabilities in natural perils modelling, covering risks such as floods, cyclones, and earthquakes.
  • Chairing the Catastrophe Working Group, providing crucial insights for pricing, underwriting, and reinsurance strategies.
  • Innovating and testing new pricing methods to maintain a competitive edge in risk selection.
  • Developing and maintaining pricing technology platforms and principles to meet evolving regulatory and market needs.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to co-create strategic and analytical solutions.
Important to your success:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Data Science, Statistics or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in data science and analytics acquired in a complex, matrixed General Insurance or financial services organisation.
  • Extensive experience in actuarial pricing, data analytics and strategy development in a senior leadership role for a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation.
  • Highly developed consulting and influencing skills, demonstrating the ability to co-create strategy and valuable analytical solutions with key business stakeholders.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities to evaluate complex alternatives, make confident judgements and develop innovative, sophisticated solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability in innovative development practices, able to rapidly generate data science prototypes using relevant techniques with exposure to Python or R.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
