We are looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager of OSHC to join our team, based in the Central West NSW.

About the Role:
In this pivotal leadership position, you will provide professional support and mentorship to Program Manager, ensuring that our centres deliver high-quality early education and care that exceeds the National Quality Standard. Your guidance will be key in blending operational excellence with pedagogical leadership, driving continuous improvement, and embedding Gowrie NSW’s vision and values into every aspect of our work.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead and Mentor: Build the leadership capacity of Program Managers, empowering them to deliver exceptional care and education.
  • Drive Excellence: Supported by the pedagogical team, you’ll ensure our centres achieve and maintain an exceeding rating by staying informed of best practices and driving pedagogical performance
  • Foster Community: Work collaboratively with Program Managers to ensure our centres are deeply embedded within their local communities, enhancing the experience for children and families.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement: Champion processes that improve assessment and rating outcomes, ensuring that our centres are always striving for excellence.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of governing laws and regulations, ensuring all centres are compliant and uphold the highest standards.
  • Support Financial Success: Guide Program Managers in achieving financial targets, ensuring strong business disciplines are in place.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experienced Leader: A background in early childhood education with leadership and managerial experience in multi-site teams.
  • Pedagogical and Compliance Expertise: A leader with strong knowledge of National Law, Regulations, and the National Quality Standard, and a deep understanding of how to drive pedagogical performance.
  • Community-Minded: A commitment to embedding our centres within their local communities and driving initiatives that reflect Gowrie NSW’s vision and values with a focus on inclusion and diversity.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to achieve business outcomes through strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional Communicator: An engaging people leader with strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire, and influence.

Key Requirements

Qualifications/Certifications:
  • Diploma or Tertiary qualification in early childhood education (e.g. University degree)
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Working With Children Check
  • Strong knowledge of National Law, Regulations, and the National Quality Standards
