General Manager – Palmerstown House Pub

Brief Introduction

Palmerstown House Pub is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy and welcoming pub in Palmerstown, Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all areas of the business, driving standards, supporting the team, and ensuring a consistently excellent guest experience.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

The General Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the daily operation of the pub, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Leading, motivating, training, and developing the team.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of customer service, food, drink, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Managing staff rosters, labour costs, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
  • Driving sales, profitability, and overall business performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety, food safety, licensing, and employment regulations.
  • Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally.
  • Monitoring financial performance, budgets, margins, and cost controls.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and developing team members.
  • Creating a positive, professional, and team-focused working environment.
  • Supporting promotions, events, and local business initiatives.
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Senior Bar/Restaurant Manager in a busy hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and financial understanding.
  • Experience managing rosters, stock, budgets, and KPIs.
  • A hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for hospitality and delivering high standards.
