General Manager – Palmerstown House Pub

Brief Introduction
Palmerstown House Pub is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy and welcoming pub in Palmerstown, Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

About The Role
Key Responsibilities
The General Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the daily operation of the pub, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Leading, motivating, training, and developing the team.
- Maintaining excellent standards of customer service, food, drink, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Managing staff rosters, labour costs, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Driving sales, profitability, and overall business performance.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, food safety, licensing, and employment regulations.
- Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally.
- Monitoring financial performance, budgets, margins, and cost controls.
- Recruiting, onboarding, and developing team members.
- Creating a positive, professional, and team-focused working environment.
- Supporting promotions, events, and local business initiatives.
- Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Senior Bar/Restaurant Manager in a busy hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good commercial awareness and financial understanding.
- Experience managing rosters, stock, budgets, and KPIs.
- A hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering high standards.
