The Role

As General Manager, you are the on-site leader responsible for day-to-day operations. You will lead a team of department supervisors, ensure the delivery of high-quality hospitality and care services, and create an environment where residents thrive and staff feel valued. You will have meaningful input into strategic direction and wellness programming, with support from senior leadership on financial planning, regulatory reporting, and contract management.

  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve programming and service delivery
  • Maintain and grow occupancy through community engagement and marketing

  • Support department leads in executing their budgets and mentor them on financial accountability
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain readiness for inspections
  • Develop and maintain community-specific procedures and wellness strategies
  • Contribute to strategic planning and wellness strategy development in collaboration with senior leadership

Health & Safety

  • Provide leadership on the Emergency Management Plan, infection control, WHMIS, and workplace health and safety
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to reduce hazards and injuries
  • Ensure the building, equipment, furnishings, and grounds are well-maintained and safe

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in a related field (nursing, health administration, recreation, hospitality, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in a care, recreation, or hospitality environment
  • Demonstrated leadership in hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Experience with human resources processes and labour relations fundamentals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check
