The purpose of this position is to provide clerical support for the Children's Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) program, based on operational procedures and timeliness standards. This position is responsible for processing documents that include, but is not limited to, client medical records, applications, Income Review Payment Agreements, income verification, and citizenship documentation. This position reviews, researches, and processes all incoming documents. This position is responsible for processing documents in the CSHCS incoming fax queue, incoming mail documents in the paper mail intake queue, as well as uploaded documents from external partners, such as local health departments, managed care health plans, and medical providers in the GOA queue.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

Experience
General Office Assistant 5
No specific type or amount of experience is required.

General Office Assistant 6
One year of administrative support experience.

General Office Assistant E7
Two years of administrative support experience, including one year equivalent to the intermediate level.

Additional Requirements and Information

This posting is being used to hire two positions.

The physical location of this position is 400 S. Pine St., Lansing, MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:


  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
  • Work must be performed in Michigan
