Applications are invited for the position of General Operative in Roadstone Ltd to be based in the Castlebar Retail.

The person appointed will report to the Castlebar Retail Supervisor. The role will involve specific responsibility for customer management, loading customers, stock control and controlling the flow of visiting traffic in Retail yard and checking of all customer entrance and exits.

About The Role

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the retail yard with other employees and customers.
  • Dealing with customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor & maintain Health & Safety systems to ensure the safety of all employees and customers.
  • Dealing with Complaints and Safety issues with the Retail Manager.
  • Processing, checking, and loading of customers when exiting the site in a timely manner.
  • Operate the traffic management in the retail area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Control all traffic movements in an efficient and a timely manner.
  • Cover office duties as required.
  • Other duties as requested by the Retail Supervisor.


The following knowledge, skills and competencies are required for this role:

  • Team player with an ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Trustworthy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with employees and customers visiting the site.
  • Experience in operating machinery such as forklift or telescopic handler.
  • An ability to operate to strict timelines/deadlines.


The successful candidate must be a highly motivated, self-directed individual with a desire for personal, company and Group achievement
