About the Partnership
Laya Healthcare and WebDoctor have partnered to deliver an innovative healthcare model that combines the reach of digital consultations with the depth of in-person clinical care. Operating across two fully equipped clinic locations in Cherrywood and Swords, this partnership is redefining how private healthcare is delivered in Ireland.
We are seeking an experienced Lead General Practitioner to join this exciting venture and play a central role in delivering exceptional patient care across both or one of our new clinic sites.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking healthcare company at an exciting stage of growth. As a GP in one of our clinics, you can deliver high-quality consultations to patients presenting with a wide variety of conditions, supported by a dedicated Practice Nurse, Practice Manager, and integrated clinical systems.
Key Responsibilities
LAYA and Webdoctor are dedicated to delivering integrated, patient-centric primary care through our innovative care model. As Lead General Practitioner across our new clinic(s) in Swords, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between cutting-edge digital health services and high-quality, in-person clinical excellence. This role requires a commitment to comprehensive care, ensuring that every patient benefits from seamless continuity whether they are engaging remotely or in the clinic, supported by modern technology and dedicated clinical staff.
Clinical Care
- Provide core general medical services to patients within the safety limitations of the clinic environment.
- Have input into and oversight of specialist clinical services as appropriate and agreed.
- We welcome GPs who are keen to explore and develop specialist service areas within the practice, contributing to the expansion of our clinical offering.
- Video Consultations: Embrace and utilise Webdoctor's digital-first approach by providing high-quality, remote video consultations alongside in-person care, ensuring seamless continuity of service for all patients.
- Ensure continuity of care for all patients, effectively managing the transition between virtual and in-person consultations.
- Collaborate with the Practice Nurse and wider clinical team to manage chronic disease and implement preventative health strategies.
Clinical Leadership & Quality
- The Lead GP will take on a pivotal clinical leadership role within the clinic(s), working closely with the Chief Medical Officer to maintain high clinical standards, ensure quality patient care, and support the growth of the practice.
Clinical Governance & Quality Oversight
- Take responsibility for leading and implementing the clinical governance agenda within the clinic(s), including the development and regular review of clinical protocols, performance data, and patient safety incidents (e.g., significant event analysis and complaints review).
- Ensure adherence to all medical protocols, clinic policies, and clinical governance standards.
- Participate in team meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Complete patient records accurately and promptly using the clinics’ electronic medical record system.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
- Work collaboratively with the Practice Nurse, Practice Manager, and wider clinical team to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear and empathetic explanations of conditions and treatment options.
- Oversee the training and onboarding process for new clinical staff, including GPs, Practice Nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Act as a mentor and guide to less experienced clinical team members, fostering a culture of continuous professional development and high clinical standards.
- Provide clinical supervision, advice, and professional support to other GPs and allied healthcare professionals within the Webdoctor service.
- Conduct staff onboarding, training, and performance appraisals.
- Work with the digital healthcare team to develop and manage hybrid healthcare services, where appropriate.
Service Development & Management Interface
- Actively contribute clinical expertise to the strategic development of new services and clinical pathways, ensuring innovative offerings meet regulatory requirements and patient needs.
- Support the phased rollout of new clinical services as the clinic grows.
- Serve as the primary clinical interface for the Practice Manager and operational team on day-to-day clinical issues, ensuring seamless integration between clinical service delivery and operational efficiency.
