The General Resources & Services Program Clerk is responsible for records maintenance for the General Resources Department. This position files, organizes, and records demographic information and usage for various benefit programs including but not limited to Emergency Assistance, Traditional Cultural and Recreation, Elder’s Birthday, and Baby Corner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Ensure proper management of program records and information. Record demographic information and benefit information for the department.
- Assist General Resources Program with benefits communication and letters.
- Assist tribal members to apply for benefits and access resources as requested by the department
- Assist with Elder’s Birthday Benefit, GW Minor Supplemental, Canoe Journey, and Transportation Assistance benefits
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Participate in department meetings and training as appropriate. Participate in continuing education as required and/or needed to fulfill job duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be proficient with computers and general office equipment. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Adobe.
- Knowledge of Native cultures, history, and traditions is strongly preferred.
- Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational skills and accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
Education Preferred: N/A
Experience:
- Previous work experience in an administrative/office setting preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- N/A
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
- Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment includes an office environment in a controlled atmosphere building.
TRIBAL PREFERENCE POLICY:
The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe follows the Tribal Hiring Preference as outlined in tribal policies, including the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). TERO sets forth certain hiring preferences for qualified individuals who are enrolled in a federally recognized Indian tribe, as well as, in some cases, preference for certain family members of those individuals.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Compensation will be determined based on experience and starts at $20.45 per hour.
- This position is a full-time position and employment is at will.
