Are you a native German speaker with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for creating outstanding customer experiences? We're looking for a customer-focused and detail-oriented person to join our Customer Success team in a part-time role. While you'll be an important part of our customer support team, your primary responsibilities will be testing our app to ensure an excellent user experience and providing customer support to help users get the most out of our product.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys customer service and sees it as their long-term professional interest. You'll need native-level German and fluent English skills, but above all, we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting customers, identifying issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our product.
At Master English, we are dedicated to revolutionizing English language learning with our patented AI-based app. Following the success of our mobile app in Spanish-speaking Latin America and the USA, we are now focusing on expanding across Europe, with German-speaking countries as one of the first key regions. This is a unique opportunity to impact the lives of German speakers by helping us deliver a high-quality, localized learning experience.
As a Customer Success team member and App Tester, you'll spend a significant part of your workday testing new app features, identifying bugs, and ensuring that new releases provide the best possible experience for our users. Customer support remains an important part of the role, and you'll respond to customer messages via email, live chat, and social media, while also helping other teams with occasional tasks when needed. You may also participate in user interviews to gather valuable feedback that helps improve our products and services. We highly value qualities such as outstanding communication skills, a strong eye for detail, a tech-savvy approach, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine dedication to improving both the product and the overall customer experience. You'll work closely with a collaborative and international team that shares a passion for languages, technology, and customer happiness.
Our office is located in the heart of Tampere at Sumeliuksenkatu 18, 33100 Tampere. We value teamwork and close collaboration, so we work together at the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays while other days offer flexibility for remote work. This is a part-time position (22.5 hours per week) with an initial one-year fixed-term contract, with a possibility for extension. Working hours are distributed across five days per week. Additionally, please note that work may occasionally be required during public holidays. Because app testing requests typically arrive later in the day, we'd especially appreciate someone who is comfortable starting and finishing their workday slightly later than usual. The exact schedule can be adjusted to fit your availability. The salary range for this position is 13–16 €/hour.
Key responsibilities
- Test new app and website features and releases, ensuring a smooth and high-quality user experience
- Identify, document, and report bugs and usability issues with accuracy and attention to detail
- Respond to customer inquiries in German and other languages with the help of translation tools via email, live chat, and social media
- Help users with technical issues, account-related questions, and language-learning-related support
- Monitor and respond to comments and messages on our social media channels
- Ensure that all communication is clear, professional, and empathetic
- Conduct occasional user interviews and collect valuable customer feedback
- Collaborate with product and development teams by sharing testing results and user insights
- Help improve customer success processes and documentation
- Assist other teams with occasional tasks when needed
What do we expect from you?
- Native-level German and a solid understanding of cultural and language norms in German-speaking countries
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
- Passion for customer service and a genuine interest in building a career in customer-facing work
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing
- Excellent written communication and friendly interaction skills
- A reliable, accurate, and self-driven working style
- Good general IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Curiosity and openness to working with new technologies and AI
- Flexibility to work slightly later hours when testing requires it
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills
An outstanding applicant would also have:
- Previous experience in software, app, or QA testing
- Previous experience in customer success or customer service, e.g. Zendesk
- Extensive exposure to German-speaking environments (e.g., studies, work, or long-term residence in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland)
- Familiarity with edtech tools, apps, or digital products
What we offer you

- Work with the latest technologies and AI to create immersive, personalized learning experiences.
- Play an important role in ensuring the quality of a product used by millions of English language learners.
- Collaborate with an international, multidisciplinary team that shares your enthusiasm for language education and technology.
