Job Title: Gift Shop Manager

Job Type: Part-time (24 hours per week); Gift Shop operates Sunday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–3:00

Location: The National Shrine of St. John Neumann

Reports to: Shrine Director

Travel Required: None

Job Summary

The Gift Shop Manager oversees the daily operations of the Shrine’s Gift Shop, ensuring a welcoming experience for all visitors. This role manages staff and volunteers, maintains inventory, and supports the Shrine’s mission through exceptional service and effective retail management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Gift Shop and related areas (Museum, Café, Media Room)
• Supervise, schedule, and train staff and volunteers
• Maintain inventory, financial reports, and POS accuracy
• Ensure compliance with policies, visual merchandising, and service standards
• Collaborate with the Shrine Director on buying, budgeting, and merchandising
• Develop strategies to enhance visitor satisfaction and shop performance
• Address customer or staff concerns with professionalism and care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of retail or gift shop management experience (required)
• Strong leadership, organization, and customer service skills
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field (preferred)
• Ability to commute to Philadelphia, PA 19123 (required)

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with Catholic merchandise and Redemptorist spirituality
• Commitment to creating a positive, faith-centered visitor experience
