Global Sourcing Manager, Packaging
OUR ROLE
The Global Sourcing Manager for Packaging is responsible for
developing, implementing and executing the global sourcing strategy for Packaging related sourcing activities for own production and 3PM
manufacturing. This role ensures the efficient sourcing and management of external manufacturing partners, driving cost efficiencies, quality
improvements, and innovation across the supply chain and the packaging related business. The position requires strategic oversight of global sourcing teams to align sourcing activities with business goals and
market dynamics.
This position can be based in Espoo, Finland, or alternatively in Europe (e.g. Poland or Germany) or in Middleton, US. The role reports to our Senior Sourcing Manager, raw materials. It is a full-time, hybrid role.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AT FISKARS
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for Packaging that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Lead the global sourcing Packaging team (currently 1 direct report, several stakeholders), to ensure seamless execution of sourcing strategies.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key Packaging suppliers to ensure reliable supply, cost competitiveness, and high-quality standards.

Negotiate contracts and agreements with Packaging suppliers to
secure favorable terms and conditions.
Cost Management:
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement programs across the Packaging supply base.

Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends and conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value creation. Consistently stay highly informed about new players and Packaging
industry trends.
Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure Packaging suppliers meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement robust supplier performance management systems to monitor and improve supplier performance.
Risk Management:
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential supply chain disruptions and ensure business continuity.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and maintain a contingency plan for critical suppliers.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global sourcing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and
conduct performance evaluations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, BA’s, Finance and Sales, to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding Packaging sourcing activities.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of ethical sourcing practices and corporate social responsibility.
- Drive and lead sustainability initiatives and projects within Fiskars to implement cost efficient, sustainable and best performing packaging for Fiskars product portfolio. Lead implementation of sustainable packaging portfolio in collaboration with sales, packaging design and supply chain.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Utilize data analytics and sourcing intelligence to drive informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Implement sourcing technologies and systems to enhance efficiency and transparency in sourcing processes.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and leverage new technologies, processes, and best practices to drive innovation in Packaging sourcing.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing effectiveness and operational efficiency.
WHO YOU ARE

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced
degree preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain management, with at least 3 years’ experience in Packaging buying in a leadership role overseeing Packaging suppliers.
- Strong skills in leading negotiations and managing contracts to ensure favourable terms and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Strong ability to lead and develop teams in a global, matrixed environment.
- Exceptional ability to analyse complex situations, identify key issues, and develop actionable solutions to drive business success.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels across global teams.
- Ability to understand, discuss, and manage technical specifications and quality standards in line with business requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a matrix organization, working collaboratively with teams across multiple regions and functions.
