Abbott is a leader in providing enteral nutrition feeding devices, including enteral feeding pumps and pump sets. Enteral feeding (also known as tube feeding) is a means of providing nutrition to people who cannot obtain nutrition by swallowing. Enteral nutrition contains all the calories and vitamins a person needs.
The role of Global TPM Controller will involve the following:
Primary Job Function:
Responsible for accounting, financial planning, and analysis with respect to Actuals, Plans, LBEs, and supporting the day-to-day operations and strategic plans for the Global Third-Party Manufacturers (TPMs). This role covers 28 TPMs globally (6 TPMs in EMEA, 4 TPMs in Asia/Australasia and 18 TPMs in US) and provides business and financial guidance to Senior Management on all TPM strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership: Provide financial leadership for TPM Start-Up Financial Analysis and capacity expansion scenarios. Act as the point person for all financial analysis supporting capacity investment decision-making.
- Contract Negotiations: Partner with Start-Up and Business as Usual Managers for contract negotiations, including financial modelling for Capital Investments, Tiered Pricing, and Take or Pay strategies.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Responsible for accounting, financial planning, and analysis for Actuals, Plans, LBEs, and supporting day-to-day operations and strategic plans for TPMs. Lead and present the Annual Financial Plan to the ANSC VP & Finance DVP.
- Financial Processes: Set up and implement financial processes at new TPMs, ensuring early engagement.
- Cost Saving Initiatives: Lead and drive cost-saving initiatives to meet divisional margin and M&P goals. Participate in price negotiations and cost-saving initiatives with key business partners.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Develop Notification of Flow Change (NFCs) for new TPMs and gain stakeholder alignment, including Corporate Tax, Customs Trade and Compliance, Corporate Treasury, Transfer Pricing, and VAT.
- Compliance: Maintain financial records in accordance with Abbott Policies and Procedures, US GAAP, Irish GAAP, and statutory legal and fiscal requirements.
- Strategic Growth Initiatives: Provide financial counsel and analysis for proposed strategic growth initiatives.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Quantify financial implications of issues, proposals, and other ad hoc analysis for Senior Leadership.
- Process Improvements: Develop and implement new financial processes and structures for new TPMs and internal customers. Assess financial processes/systems and implement improvements to drive efficiency and productivity.
- Inventory Management: Oversee reconciliation and counting of consigned inventory between Abbott and our US TPMs and analyse variances.
- Team Developm ent: Develop and train the TPM finance team to ensure a strong pipeline of future financial talent.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
- Direct/Indirect Reports: 6 (3 in Ireland, 3 in the US)
- Daily Interface: Directors, Controllers, and Division VPs.
Minimum Experience/Training Required:
You will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or similar qualification. Masters, MBA, or Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) preferred with a minimum 10 years’ experience in Finance, including at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
