We are now looking for a Graduate, AI & Analytics (m/f/d) to join UPM Communication Papers Strategy & Development team. The position will start as of 01.06.2024 (later dates can be considered) and will be based in Helsinki, Finland or Augsburg, Germany or Wrocław, Poland.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate with strong AI and analytic skills to join our UPM Communication Papers Strategy & Development team. In this role, you will work on a variety of topics, contributing to the identification of relevant use cases and the development of applicable models. Your work will provide valuable insights, support decision-making, and drive continuous improvements in our business. What you will do
Our Graduate Programme aims to strengthen your professional and personal competencies. In addition, you will have a chance to develop your professional network.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with various departments to identify potential AI and analytics use cases that can drive business value
- Design, develop, and implement AI models and analytical solutions to address identified business challenges
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Document processes, methodologies, and results, and present findings to stakeholders
Who you are
- You are a recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions
- You have understanding of AI concepts, machine learning algorithms, and data analytics techniques
- You are proficient in programming languages and/or machine learning frameworks as well as in low-code development environments (e.g. Python, TensorFlow, Microsoft Power Platform)
- You have a basic understanding of optimization problems (e.g., concepts such as objective, parameter, variable, constraint) and visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI)
- You have excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills, with the ability to explain and simplify technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- You are able to work effectively in a virtual team environment and collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines
- You are eager to learn new technologies and methodologies, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
- You are fluent in spoken and written English; other languages are considered as an advantage
