Graduate Commercial Product Support Engineer – 2 Year Graduate Program

This is a role well suited to an ambitious recently Graduated Engineer, looking to take the first steps of their career and expand on the theoretical and practical skills gained during their degree.

Siemens Healthineers based in Swords, Dublin, are expanding the engineering team to complement our existing broad range of engineering competencies and is looking to recruit an Engineer on a 2-year graduate program.

The successful candidate will report to a Principal Engineer or Senior Engineer on site in Swords and will form part of a flexible engineering team supporting the commercial product support of medical laboratory diagnostics instrumentation.

This graduate program will be responsible for assisting, managing and investigating field escalations and complaints within the commercial product support team. You will gain knowledge into complex medical device diagnostic machines, how they operate, product patient results and learn to troubleshoot and problem solve. The candidate will work within a cross functional engineering and customer service teams built to ultimately improve customer experience.

This is a 2-year graduate program aimed at transitioning new graduates to be capable engineers in a highly technical and highly regulated Med Tech environment.

The critical skills we are looking for

  • Provide technical support to Laboratory diagnostic instrumentation platforms in a low volume, high complex, and highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to assist in escalations either remotely or via on site support with excellent communication skills.
  • An aptitude in engineering, data analysis and report writing skills is required.
  • The successful candidate must have the capability to analyze problems to root cause with a structured approach.
  • Voice of the customer- eager to ensure customer pain points and frustrations are being addressed by the Business

Required for the success of this role

  • Must be progressing towards or hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, System, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering or Software) is required – 2025 Graduates will be considered for this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An excellent team player who knows how to work in a team environment
  • Flexibility to travel at short notice based on business requirements (up to 60% travel may be required)
  • Enthusiastic and keen to develop theoretical and practical skills gained during academic cycle
  • Appreciation for the regulations in the medical device industry
