Graduate Engineer | Power Projects

THE ROLE

Our NZ Power Projects team currently manages several significant transmission projects and is seeking a Graduate Engineer with the ambition of becoming a Project Manager . You will report to the Service Delivery Manager and be based on-site for the duration of a $4 million refurbishment project located in Palmerston North.

In this role, you will manage the planning, scheduling, and delivery of assigned projects, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards while staying within budget and agreed timeframes. This is a hands-on position where you will have the opportunity to apply your technical skills and provide support in civil, structural, and mechanical engineering.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Provide on-site technical support for field crews.
  • Manage project to specification, within budget and within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensure project documents are complete and to document control standards.
  • Lead by example and continually promote relevant aspects of Zero Harm when engaging with operational teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

ABOUT YOU

  • A tertiary degree, accompanied by postgraduate rotation experience in civil or power projects, is highly valued.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical engineering principles or transmission/distribution network operations
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage with key stakeholders up and downstream.
