Ballyheane Buttercups is recruiting for an enthusiastic Graduate Lead Educator for our wobbler room, working with children aged 18 months to 3 years. This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday for up to 8 hours per day.

Graduate Early Years Educator duties include but not limited to:

• Looking after the daily care and individual needs of wobbler aged children.
• Planning and engaging in appropriate activities to facilitate the potential and development of each child
• Creating an environment that is both safe and exciting for the children
• Working as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written with children, parents and staff alike
• Appreciate the role of parents, and establish strong relationships with them in the best interests of the children
• Planning and observations.
• Observe, record and report children’ progression
• Following the Aistear curriculum and Síolta standards in creating a stimulating child-led inquiry based curriculum
• Ensuring all paperwork is kept up to date
• Creating an inclusive environment where children feel respected, and heard.
• Adhering to and maintaining all company policies and procedures
• Ensuring the cleanliness of your room, sweeping, hoovering and mopping as needed
• Ensure an organised and stimulating environment for the children to enjoy each day

Requirements for childcare practitioner

• Candidates must hold a minimum of QQI Level 7 qualification in Early years education or equivalent childcare qualification.
• Strong work ethic
• Be able to work as part of a team and on their own initiative
• Have good Health and Safety awareness
• Enthusiasm for the role
• Be knowledgeable in Aistear and Síolta
• Have experience in planning and carrying out age appropriate curriculum
• Understand and follow TUSLA regulations
• Be naturally warm and respectful towards children and their needs
• Be committed to working with early years and a willingness to engage in CPD
• Experience of working with children aged 18 months to 3 years is preferred but not essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €17.75 per hour
