Job Title: Grant Administrator (Part-time)

Work Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada [Hybrid (In-Person & Remote)]

About Us:

Al-Madinah Calgary Islamic Assembly (AMCIA)/Green Dome Islamic School (GDIS)/Green Dome Daycare is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for our students, staff, and community members. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Administrator to lead and manage our grant development and fundraising initiatives.

Position Summary:

The Grant Administrator will play a key role in identifying funding opportunities, preparing compelling grant proposals, managing donor relations, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. This position is ideal for someone passionate about community development and experienced in nonprofit fundraising and grant administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify funding opportunities from federal, provincial, and municipal governments, as well as foundations and corporate partners
  • Develop, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals and funding applications
  • Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar and ensure timely submissions and reporting
  • Oversee post-award compliance, reporting, and documentation
  • Monitor trends and identify new funding streams and partnership opportunities
  • Respond to donor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Prepare regular progress reports for leadership
  • Create tools, templates, and best practices to strengthen organizational fundraising capacity
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns and events

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, grant management, fundraising, or nonprofit development
  • Proven track record of successfully securing grants
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian funding landscape (federal, provincial, and private sectors)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in budgeting, Microsoft Office, and donor/database management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders
  • Asset: Degree in Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field
