Head Housekeeper

For our motel - Fitzherbert Regency Motor Lodge in Palmerston North we are looking to hire a Head Housekeeper who will be undertaking the below mentioned job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of all Lodge guest rooms.
  • Ensure that rooms are prepared as per company standards.
  • Manage and prepare the annual Housekeeping budget.
  • Manage and maintain par stock of guest supplies cleaning, linen and uniforms.
  • Manage the suppliers and inventories with the Accounts team for items related to Housekeeping.
  • Manage, review, develop and implement Housekeeping systems and procedures.
  • Prepare reports for Lodge Manager and Management team as and when required.
  • Reviewing and organising on-the job training and evaluate the effectiveness.
  • Managing and updating approval of the Functional Manual for the Housekeeping Department.
  • Recruitment of new personnel.
  • Recognising individual and team performance that meets the Lodges quality requirements.
  • Reviewing any guest concerns and actions if required, ensuring positive outcomes/solutions are in place.
  • Ensure a detailed daily log is maintained for any incidents, issues and shift handover.
  • Holding monthly team meetings, in cooperation with Lodge Manager and daily handovers with the Housekeeping team to ensure all relevant information is provided to the team.
  • Liaising with management to ensure the provision of a personalised focussed Housekeeping service.
  • Assist Lodge Manager and Front Office Manager with any projects as requested and implement, feedback on any actions, as necessary.
  • Daily inspection of public areas including floor walks and inspection of all rooms, suggesting any improvements, areas for attention where necessary.
  • Daily briefing with Front Office Manager
  • Assisting in any way required to ensure that the departments' service goals are achieved.
  • Managing the coordination of the preventative maintenance schedule of all rooms and public areas with the maintenance department.
  • Develop a schedule of deep cleans and rotation of linen.

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate is required to have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Should be available to work on weekends
  • Management and interpersonal skills

  • Team-worker

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekend availability
