We are looking for a Head of Business Accelerator Services to join Stora Enso's global IT starting as soon as possible.
Purpose
As the Head of Business Accelerator Services, you are leading a new, critical scope within IT, reporting directly to the CIO, with the primary mission of being the Industrialized Reinventor for Stora Enso. Your team is essential for future-proofing the entire company, managing and delivering differentiating services for our biggest strategic bets—including the Future of Mills, Supply Chain, and Sales and Marketing. You will accelerate value generation, maximize revenue from data insights, and ensure the successful modernization and scaling of high-impact digital solutions. Your role is critical in driving IT's transition to a higher business focus, creating tangible value every day.
You are responsible for designing, implementing, and relentlessly optimising digital and IT capabilities that directly accelerate and maximise EBIT impact from Stora Enso’s strategic big bets as a renewable packaging leader. This role is the driving force for rapidly identifying, adopting, and scaling digital solutions that deliver breakthrough business performance, retiring legacy or obsolete tools, and enabling Stora Enso to seize new market opportunities with agility. As the newest and most critical IT service tower, you actively engage with business leaders, facilitating dialogue to uncover current challenges and co-design digital solutions to ensure every investment and initiative is tightly aligned with strategic needs, adaptable to change, and focused on delivering tangible, measurable value.
Your responsibilities
- Drive the IT portfolio by ensuring all investments are directed toward future-ready capabilities and deliver the highest value for the company. Demonstrate no hesitation to stop underperforming initiatives or pivot to innovative solutions when market demands or business needs change.
- Co-create and execute a dynamic roadmap of digital capabilities and services that are tightly linked to Stora Enso’s strategic big bets and EBIT growth drivers.
- Leverage current and emerging digital capabilities and data driven insights as well as emerging technologies like AI, automation, advanced analytics, and digital agents to deliver solutions that unlock new revenue streams, optimise operations, and enhance customer value.
- Collaborate with business partners to define, track, and achieve joint, business-centric KPIs related to EBIT impact, speed to value, user adoption, and business stakeholder satisfaction.
- Identify, decommission, and sunset outdated or redundant IT/business capabilities, ensuring a focused, modern, and agile business acceleration portfolio.
- Rigorously prioritise initiatives—investing only in those with a clear, measurable impact on business performance and EBIT.
- Act as a trusted business partner, working hand-in-hand with business units to understand emerging needs, rapidly prototype solutions, and scale successes.
- Ensure all capabilities are built for adaptability, rapid iteration, and seamless integration with evolving business processes and technologies.
- Implement digital dashboards and analytics to track business impact, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Actively engage with the broader industry, innovation ecosystems, and technology vendors to ensure our portfolio remains relevant and we continuously identify new opportunities for our business.
- Build, mentor, and empower a digitally savvy and entrepreneurial team with a business-first mindset, continuously uplifting their skills.

- Lead for change and empowerment: Shape a culture of continuous learning and adaptability to change by guiding your leaders in identifying and nurturing their strengths and capabilities as transformational leaders. Lead yourself organizational change across IT and the business while ensuring Accountability, Agility, Ambition, and Alignment (our 4As) are consistently demonstrated.
What you bring
Proven experience leading digital transformation, business acceleration, or innovation programs in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
- Deep understanding of business strategy, value creation levers (especially EBIT), and the renewable packaging industry context.
- Expertise in deploying digital technologies (AI, automation, analytics, agentification) to drive rapid business results.
- Track record of retiring, consolidating, and transitioning away from legacy or underperforming capabilities.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, change management, and communication skills.
- Strong prioritisation and portfolio management abilities—identifying and scaling only the few initiatives that will move the EBIT needle.
- Ability to foster cross-functional collaboration and build high-performing, agile teams.
- Unwavering persistence and resilience as well as comfort with ambiguity, adaptability, and a relentless focus on speed and impact, even when faced with setbacks.
- A strong entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify new digital opportunities and relentlessly pursue them, challenging the status quo to unlock significant business value.
- Courageous and decisive leadership, capable of making difficult decisions-especially regarding retiring legacy systems and capabilities–while inspiring confidence and maintaining momentum in the face of change.
