The Greenpeace International (GPI) People & Culture (P&C) Department is looking for a Head of Greenpeace International Staff to play a crucial role in developing, advocating and implementing the People & Culture departments strategic plans to support Greenpeace International to achieve its strategic goals.


The GPI Staff Unit provides organisational and employee services to all Greenpeace International departments and staff around the world. This unit emphasises the employee experience throughout the entire employment lifecycle, including learning and development, well-being, and resiliency.


In this role, you will provide overall leadership to an effective People & Culture team, where strong internal and external partnerships are essential. You will equip senior management with the necessary P&C tools and knowledge to effectively manage their teams. Additionally, you will lead the P&C Business Partners, the Employee Experience Team Lead and the Facilities Manager ensuring that they are fully prepared to drive excellence in people management, create great working environments, and enhance people management capabilities. Furthermore you will drive initiatives focused on change, coaching, learning, performance, collaboration, diversity, and leadership development, ensuring that our cultural evolution aligns with Greenpeace’s mission.


In this role you will:


  • Lead the GPI Staff Team to deliver high-quality, timely support by fostering collaborative partnerships with managers and staff, ensuring seamless services, and driving process improvements through performance indicators.

  • Lead a team of P&C Business Partners, the Employee Experience Team Lead and the Facilities Manager within the People & Culture department to ensure the effective delivery of P&C services and initiatives.

  • Implement the P&C Purpose Statement and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion principles, while overseeing the development and compliance of People and Culture strategies, policies, and procedures.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through strong leadership, collaborative work practices, and clear communication within a diverse and complex international environment.

  • Proactively build and maintain strong, customer-focused relationships with key stakeholders across the global network.

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in People and Culture management roles.

  • 5 years of Senior Management Experience.

  • Strong understanding of People and Culture practices, employment laws, and industry trends.

  • Strong experience within Comp & Benefits is an advantage.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to drive change, foster collaboration, and build relationships at all organisational levels.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools.

  • Certification in HR management is a plus.

  • Champion of change supporting the creation of an environment where new ideas and ways of working and intelligent risk taking can thrive. Openness to (un-)learn and to feedback.

  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence.
