About the Role


We are seeking a visionary and passionate educator to lead our Mathematics department as Head of Learning Area – Mathematics. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Mathematics education in a dynamic and supportive Christian learning community.

The successful candidate will exemplify pedagogical expertise, strategic leadership, and a deep commitment to student achievement. As HoLA, you will lead a team of dedicated teachers, foster a culture of academic excellence, and ensure that teaching and learning is innovative, inclusive, and aligned with both College values and state educational standards.

You will be a key contributor to the Secondary Leadership Team, mentoring staff, driving curriculum development, and modelling ethical leadership in all aspects of school life.

  • Is committed to Christian values and actively contributes to the spiritual life of the College.

Position Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education and Mathematics teaching.
  • Proven leadership experience or capacity for leadership in curriculum development, mentoring, and staff management.
  • Strong knowledge of Western Australian Curriculum and assessment standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, lead, and motivate others in pursuit of excellence.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and strategically.
  • Evidence of innovation and excellence in teaching practice.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.

Essential Criteria

  • A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
  • Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to personal best practice.
  • Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair.
  • Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
  • Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
  • Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College’s values and policies.

Possession of the following certifications:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate
