Why this role matters:

As a Head of Logistics & Freight Forwarding, you’ll lead and scale ICEYE’s global logistics and trade compliance capabilities, ensuring the secure, compliant, and efficient movement of satellites, components, and controlled technologies worldwide. Your work enables the reliable deployment of ICEYE’s SAR constellation and directly supports mission-critical Earth observation capabilities for defense, security, and commercial applications.

ICEYE delivers space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. This includes sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE’s world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as access to data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation. These capabilities enable partners to detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy, day or night and in any weather, supported by ultra high-resolution imagery and high-frequency revisits.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Own and develop ICEYE’s global logistics and freight forwarding strategy across multiple regions and sites

  • Ensure secure, compliant, and cost-efficient transportation of satellites, components, and controlled technologies

  • Lead trade compliance governance across EAR, ITAR, EU frameworks, and dual-use regulations

  • Manage logistics partners, customs brokers, and regulatory stakeholders while driving operational excellence and risk mitigation

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

  • Strong experience in global logistics, freight forwarding, and trade compliance within aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries

  • Deep knowledge of export control regulations including EAR, ITAR, and EU frameworks

  • Proven leadership experience managing complex international logistics operations and cross-border projects

  • Hands-on expertise in handling sensitive, high-value, or controlled technologies with strong risk management capabilities

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with EU and Finnish customs procedures and regulatory environments

  • Background in satellite or aerospace logistics and global shipment execution

  • Professional certifications in supply chain, logistics, or trade compliance (e.g., AEO, APICS, Six Sigma)
