WHAT ON EARTH IS DECIEM?
Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder, Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
As the Head of Market, South Korea your main objective is to direct and oversee all operations and staff throughout the region to ensure the company’s steady growth. This involves taking responsibility for profit, revenue, targets and distribution of our products.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Gangnam office.
As a global company, proficiency in both English and Korean, written and verbal skills is essential.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Responsible for supporting the corporate teams while developing strategies to maximize efficiency, profitability and communication
- Create standard practices, documents, and procedures to maximize efficiency, maintain consistency, support portal integration and ensure transparency globally
- Oversight of retail and distribution partnerships account set-up (handling administrative requirements, ensuring brand assets are transmitted, supporting in launch planning) in new markets
- Recruit, manage, mentor, and develop team to maximize sales, profitability and exceed agreed key performance indicators across the region
- Maintain brand image and expand the business in Korea Achieve operational targets and responsible for financial planning activities including monitoring profit and loss statements, implementing measures to attain target metrics
- -including P&L and staffing budgets for region
- Daily, weekly and monthly business reviews and performance reports to identify further opportunity
- Supporting and maintaining DECIEM’s current distribution relationships in the South Korean market
- Introduce key distributors to the company portfolio of brands in markets that align with our global expansion strategy
- Work with all corporate departments to ensure corporate initiatives are rolled out in an effective manner
- Communicate important corporate initiatives to team, ensuring full understanding of company objectives and vision
- Support with the sustainability and social impact team and diversity, equity & inclusion team regularly to incorporate our approach into aspects of work
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Strong problem solver and negotiator which is an asset to resolving complex employee relations cases
- Excellent follow-up skills and ability to build solid collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrates well-developed business acumen and understands how to implement/manage change
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task a must
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines
- Demonstrated understanding of the functional beauty market particularly in Asia Pacific
- 4+ years of people management and/or leadership experience is required
- Relevant education OR equivalent work experience in retail, account or project management is an asset
