BU Imatra consists of Imatra mill in Finland and sawmills in Estonia and Latvia and employs about 1400 employees. Imatra mill, founded in 1935 is the largest site and consists of two production areas: Kaukopää and Tainionkoski. It produces chemical pulp and packaging materials board and has annual capacity of 1.230,000 tons.
Head of People & Culture Business Unit Imatra
We are looking for a Head of People & Culture to our Business Unit (BU) Imatra, part of Stora Enso’s Business Area (BA) Food Service & Liquid board. You will be part of the BU Imatra leadership team and drive the people agenda for the BU.
You will lead an international team of experienced People & Culture professionals in Finland, Estonia and Latvia and report to the Head of People & Culture of BA Foodservice & Liquid board and BA Cartonboard. The position is located in Imatra and some travelling from time to time is required.
BU Imatra is currently in an exciting journey, transforming from production site into a fully accountable, P&L responsible unit and has operations in Finland, Estonia and Latvia. In this role, you influence and partner proactively with senior business leaders, identifying and developing organisational capabilities required to drive transformation and execute the business strategy. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a people centric culture of collaboration and high performance throughout BU Imatra.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the people agenda for the BU Imatra in line with the BU targets, ensuring alignment with overall BA and Stora Enso priorities, values and objectives.
Build strong relationships with business leaders, employees, and external partners to support business objectives.
Drive leadership development, recruitment, succession management and workforce planning to ensure the business unit attracts, retains, and develops top talent.
Foster a collaborative high-performance culture, driving employee engagement initiatives and championing diversity and inclusion.
Lead change management, organisational design, and capability-building initiatives to ensure the business unit remains agile and competitive.
Lead and oversee talent and performance management processes securing high performance is recognised and incentivized.
Use of People analytics using data for decision making and HR lifecycle process coordination across the BU.
Drive employee relations by being a trusted advisor on complex employee matters, ensuring fair and compliant resolution of issues and promoting a healthy work environment.
You bring
Strong people leader with experience leading a People & Culture team, on site as well as virtually (preferably international team).
10+ years of broad HR experience, including HRBP roles in an international, industrial, or manufacturing context.
Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Expertise in organisational development, talent management, and culture transformation
A university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Fluency in Finnish and English.
