Head of safety & security, Business Unit Oulu

We are now looking for an ambitious Head of safety & security to join our Business Unit Oulu. In this role, you will collaborate closely with all our units; Oulu Mill, Herman Andersson, Junnikkala sawmills in Oulu, Kalajoki and Oulainen, and Veitsiluoto sawmill. This role is based in Oulu and reports to Head of BU Oulu.

As a Head of safety & security you will utilize the synergies within the Cartonboard Business Area and all BU Oulu units, and coach the operational leaders and employees in safety culture and agenda.

You will develop, monitor and support the implementation of the safety initiatives and analyze the current safety performance. In this role you will create safety programs and concepts together with the safety teams in all our units. You will provide expertise in safety culture and be an active coach in our units. You will also need to become an expert in risk management, process safety and root cause analysis.

About you

We are looking for a skilled professional with ambition for continuous improvement with master’s or bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Safety, Security and Risk Management or Social sciences)

You also have at least 5 years of experience in safety related leadership role and have a strong track record in driving safety culture in large organizations.
You have in-depth knowledge of Safety Management System requirements (such as OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001) as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
You aim to be the best at what you do, share your knowledge and inspire others to develop.
You take ownership and work responsibly towards common goals.
You demonstrate a high level of accountability and support your team to do the same.
You have excellent communication and co-operation skills, and you are fluent in Finnish and English.
