About the Role

As a member of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT), the Head of School (Junior Phase) provides strategic and operational leadership for the Junior Phase of learning, known at Padua College as the Belonging Phase.

The Head of School (Junior Phase) supports the delivery of the College Strategic Plan and Annual Action Plan and leads the development of the Junior Phase as a distinct, focused and integral component of the College. In this capacity, the role provides leadership to Junior Phase staff to enhance teaching practice, student achievement and the collective life of the College community.

The successful candidate will be appointed to this role for an initial term of four (4) years, in accordance with Clause S2.13.1 for Middle Leadership. This appointment includes a permanent position as a teacher and includes a teaching role for the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Lead milestone events as part of activating the Franciscan Way for Junior Phase learners.
Collaborate with the Formation Team to develop opportunities for Christian community service and social justice.
Lead the implementation of high-quality curriculum, pedagogy and learning programs for students in the Junior Phase.
Lead the use of data analysis, monitoring and feedback processes to improve student outcomes in collaboration with Head of Business Intelligence and Professional Learning.
Support staff professional growth through coaching, feedback, goal setting and review processes.

Skills and Experiences:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Masters degree or equivalent.
Current Queensland Teacher Registration.
An in depth understanding of the way the role connects with the College's Franciscan charism.
A proven track record in leading staff and a Students Wellbeing Portfolio.
Experience in implementing school wide programs, leading professional development and the continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Interviews will be held onsite at Padua College on Wednesday 27 May and Thursday 28 May 2026.
