The Team
The People and Capability Office has overall responsibility for crafting and implementing a vision for organisational transformation, driving initiatives that support EirGrid strategic goals in people management, internal communications, and process enhancement.
The People and Capability Office plays a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of EirGrid's evolution, facilitating cultural change, and building and enabling a high-performance environment. From talent development to employee engagement, the People and Capability Office leads the charge in creating a motivated workforce and delivering best-practice HR policies and solutions.
Job Purpose
The role holder will partner with the business to define business needs and deliver strategic HR priorities. The role holder will work closely with the business on strategic workforce planning to ensure capability build and resource planning is tracked to enable the business to deliver the required future organisation, shaped for optimal effectiveness. The role holder will also play a crucial role in creating a positive, engaging and productive work environment for all EirGrid employees.
The role holder is a member of EirGrid’s extended leadership team and as such is expected to proactively contribute to the overall achievement of business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of strategic HR priorities aligned to the EirGrid business strategy.
- Lead a highly motivated team of professionals across the People & Capability function.
- Act as the Senior HR Strategic Business Partner to management providing advice and coaching senior line managers on the implementation of HR best practice.
- Lead, plan, design and implement a full range of strategic HR and agile people change programmes across the group deploying best practice in change management frameworks.
- Work with the Chief People Officer in the development of EirGrid People Strategy and Business Planning process.
- Lead design and implementation of enhanced end-to-end Performance management process.
- Ensure that line managers have the tools and support needed to lead their people through change.
- Prepare strategies, change proposals, and business cases suitable for the executive leadership team recommending enhancements to EirGrid people strategies.
- Work closely with the business on strategic workforce planning to ensure capability build and resource planning in tracked and delivered.
- Champion a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in EirGrid and ensure people initiatives, policies and procedures are reflective of same.
- Partner with the Finance team to manage People & Capability Budgets in line with the Delegated Control Framework and group guidelines.
- Exemplify the values and leadership behaviours expected of a senior leader in the organisation.
Critical knowledge, skills and experience:
- Experienced professional with Leadership experience across a range of HR capabilities gained through multiple experiences in more than one organisation.
- Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into effective people initiatives.
- Experience of leading and influencing high performing teams in changing circumstances.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, demonstrate resilience and be comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity.
- Passionate about best practice in human resource management with the drive, tenacity and resourcefulness to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
