About the Role

The Head of Students and Wellbeing provides strategic leadership for student wellbeing, engagement, behaviour, and personal development across Years 5-12, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment where every student is known, valued, and supported to thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Working within the mission and values of Padua College, the role leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based wellbeing and student support frameworks that promote belonging, engagement, agency, resilience, and success. It oversees the College's approach to student behaviour, balancing high expectations with relational, restorative, and developmentally appropriate practices that encourage responsibility, accountability, and growth.

The successful candidate will be appointed to this role for an initial term of four (4) years, in accordance with Clause S2.13.1 for Middle Leadership. This appointment includes a permanent teaching position for the successful applicant.

Mentor, lead, and support Pastoral and House Guardians in the development of effective wellbeing practices and strong leadership capability within the House System.
Provide advice, guidance, and support to staff on student behaviour management strategies, ensuring consistent and best-practice approaches across the College.
Case-manage students referred to the Head of Students and Wellbeing, implementing appropriate interventions and support strategies in accordance with the College's Behaviour Management Policy.
Investigate and address matters relating to student behaviour and conduct, both within the College and in external environments where student actions may impact the College community.
Assist the Vice Rector Students and Wellbeing in the development, review, implementation, and continuous improvement of student wellbeing and behaviour management policies, procedures, and related documentation.

Skills and Experiences:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Recognised teacher qualifications and postgraduate qualifications at master’s level or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex wellbeing initiatives, pupil casework, and administrative processes with precision and care.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying restorative and evidence-informed behaviour management practices that uphold dignity, accountability, and consistency.
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT), or the ability to obtain QCT registration.
