The Niagara United Soccer Club (NUSC) has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Head Technical Director for our club!

Position Overview

The Head Technical Director leads and oversees all technical programs within the club, ensuring a clear pathway for player and coach development aligned with the club’s philosophy and long-term goals. This role manages curriculum implementation, coach support and evaluation, talent identification, and stakeholder collaboration while promoting a safe, inclusive environment that prioritizes player welfare and holistic development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a comprehensive player development pathway supporting technical, tactical, physical, socio-emotional and psychological growth from grassroots to elite levels.
  • Recruit, mentor, educate, and evaluate coaches to ensure consistent, high-quality standards across all programs.
  • Develop and implement a club-wide curriculum aligned with the club’s philosophy and long-term player development principles.
  • Establish and manage a structured talent identification and recruitment process to attract and appropriately place players within the club pathway.
  • Act as the club’s technical leader, working with club leadership and key stakeholders to support and advance the club’s goals.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive environment that prioritizes player welfare, safeguarding, and holistic development.
  • Assist with coach education workshops and internal development programs




Requirements


Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in youth soccer development
  • Proven experience as a Technical Director, Head Coach or equivalent
  • Recognized coaching licenses
  • Canada Soccer C license certified or above - required
  • Ontario Soccer Technical Director Diploma - preferred
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required
  • Strong understanding of Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) models
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to mentor and inspire coaching staff
  • Passion for player development and high-performance environments
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including increased hours and weekends during summer/soccer season months with less hours worked during the off season.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian soccer landscape, and the challenges and opportunities it presents to grassroots player development.
  • A strong understanding of youth soccer competition structure and how it relates to optimal player development.
