The primary purpose of this role is to lead and execute sales, business development, and operational strategies within the wholesale (facultative reinsurance) market segment in Japan and other Asia regions. This position is critical in driving the company’s growth strategy by expanding market presence, enhancing profitability, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. The role includes overseeing the strategic growth and development of Wholesale Broker (Local and reinsurance) and Local Cedant segments, building strong stakeholder relationships, and aligning divisional objectives with company-wide targets.
The opportunity:

Strategic Leadership & Growth:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to drive new business acquisition and achieve rate, retention, and revenue growth targets.
- Align division goals with the company’s overall growth strategy to ensure sustained profitability in the wholesale market.

Market Development & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster and maintain strategic partnerships with key brokers, cedants, and stakeholders to promote mutual business growth and achieve regional objectives.
- Engage brokers and cedants by implementing tailored compensation strategies and ensuring alignment with best practices.

Customer-Centric Approach:
- Deliver exceptional account management and client relationship services, aligning offerings with customer needs and market trends.
- Provide subject matter expertise during business reviews to enhance client satisfaction and long-term loyalty.

Operational Excellence:
- Design and lead initiatives to optimise the book of business, effectively communicating the benefits of partnering with the organisation.
- Monitor and forecast sales activity, ensuring robust pipeline management and achievement of revenue goals.

Team Leadership & Culture Building:
- Provide clear guidance to staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Manage budgeted resources effectively while modelling and promoting the company’s cultural expectations and values.

Regional Collaboration & Representation:
- Collaborate with Asia teams to achieve shared objectives and enhance the company’s presence in key markets.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, building and maintaining a professional market presence.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in sales and business development within the wholesale facultative reinsurance, with a focus on Japan and Asia regions.
- Strong knowledge of regional market dynamics, broker and cedant channels, and competitive landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with organisational goals.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse cultures and stakeholders.
- Leadership experience with a track record of driving team performance and fostering a positive organisational culture.
