About the role:

We are currently seeking a part time Youth Access Worker to join our team at headspace Emerald. Our Youth Access Worker will conduct the initial screening using the headspace psychosocial assessments for young people and present it to our multidisciplinary team to determine the best clinical pathway and care plan.


What will a typical day look like?

  • Monitor and conduct young people focussed psychosocial assessments on all headspace Emerald young people to ascertain social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Deliver evidence based brief interventions, including group interventions and problem solving with young people and their families.
  • Provide an inclusive practice that values the significance of family and friends.
  • Attend and contribute to regular Care Coordination Review Meetings as directed by the Clinical Coordinator.
  • Maintain young person’s privacy and confidentiality and adhere to duty of care requirements and other relevant legislation such as mental health standards and best practice.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Diploma in social work, mental health, psychology, occupational therapy, or other relevant fields.

Other Requirements:

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
