THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOU
As a Health and Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for expanding and continuously improving the safety culture at PTI Transformers by maintaining the Environmental, Health & Safety (“EHS”) Management Systems for PTI Regina's multiple manufacturing locations. During the development phase of these systems, you will research, develop, and execute the criteria required to maintain the Safety Certificate of Recognition (“COR”) and any other certifications the company identifies.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Maintain Certificate of Recognition (“COR”) and obtain other certifications.
· Participate in and contribute to the Occupational Health & Safety Committee.
· Maintain Safety Data Sheets through Velocity.
· Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to identify hazards and assess risks in all departments and locations.
· Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses/hazards/concerns to determine root causes and recommend preventative measures.
· Provide training, education, and safety specific employee activities.
· Perform a variety of administrative tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of the Safety Management System and documentation.
· Performing other duties as allocated.
WHAT IT TAKES

· Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety combined with formal training and/or work experience in related field.
· 1-3 years of experience in a Health and Safety role.
· CRSP certification is an asset.
· Completion of ISO internal audit training is an asset.
· Experience with performing audits and writing reports.
· Ability to manage time effectively.
· Ability to handle highly confidential information and situations.
· Ability to communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
· Ability to think analytically and problem-solve by identifying hazards and assessing risks.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
