About the Role
This role will see you working in our busy Emergency department and in the General Ward at Bay of Islands Hospital under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse and assist patients to meet their activities of daily living, comfort and safety needs. You will also perform delegated patient care duties to enhance the satisfaction of the patient and housekeeping duties to provide a clean, tidy and organised environment.
About the Location
Bay of Islands Hospital is located in Kawakawa and provides care to the people of the Bay of Islands and the Mid North. The 20-bed hospital provides comprehensive medical and paediatric services, with all the support services and also provides a substantial community health service.
About you
- Ideally we are looking for an HCA with previous hospital experience. This role will see you working in the ward and the emergency department
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating patience, flexibility and adaptability
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
