Qualified and Experienced Health Care Assistants (HCA's) required for 30-hour guaranteed shift schedule. Must have one year's experience and be qualified in
QQI Level 5 Health Care Support or part qualified in QQI Care Skills and Care of the Older Person modules.

Main Duties and Responsibility:

• To attend to service user primarily in their own home ;
• To carry out a range of Care Tasks as indicated on the service users Care Plan and as directed by your Team Leader / Line Manager;
• Assist in the client’s personal care activities including, but not limited to bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene;
• Provide light housekeeping tasks including laundering of client’s garments, linen and changing beds;
• Transferring clients which may include, but not limited to, use of equipment such as hoists;
• Provide for a clean, safe and healthy environment for clients;
• Assist in meeting nutritional needs by providing meal planning, meal preparation, grocery shopping, dishes, kitchen clean up;
• Remind/prompt client to take self-administered medication;
• Observe and report any changes in the clients mental, physical or emotional condition or home situation to your Team Leader / Line Manager in a timely manner;
• Establish and maintain effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members;
• Social Care tasks include but are not limited to conversation, companionship, support with home exercise programme and other activities identified on the care plan;
• To provide relief for a carer/colleague as required;
• To maintain written records of service users visited, as required by the company;
• To ensure that the rights of the clients are protected in your dealings with them;
• To undertake other duties as may be assigned to you by your Team Leader / Line Manager.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of the role of the Home Care Support Assistant in the community;
• Experience in a caring role in an informal/formal setting;
• Experience of housekeeping/cooking;
• An awareness of health and safety in the home and workplace environment;
• A full understanding of the importance of confidentiality in the role.

This work will include morning, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts.

Earn €17.18 with Travel Time included. Guaranteed hour rate where a Shift Contract is applied. Availability is required between 8am – 10pm and own transport is essential.

Week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday Friday shift work, must be available between 8am - 10pm.

Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday shift work, must be available between 8am to 10pm.

* Full Driver's Licence and access to own transport is essential for shift HCA's.
