- 64 hours per fortnight - Rostered shifts Monday to Sunday, 0800 -1630 with 1 shift per fortnight 1500-2300

About the Role
For this exciting role at Thames Maternity Unit we require a health care assistant with a passion for assisting whanau in navigating the early parenting days.
Together under the direction of our team of midwives the Health Care Assistant will provide support to the whanau that utilise our service with general housekeeping services and some administration.
About the Team
Thames Maternity Unit supports whanau in the community at a very special time in their lives. With around 100 births per year we are offering a service that covers the rural areas surrounding Thames including Waihi, Paeroa, Coromandel and Ngatea.
Whanau usually stay with us for a maximum of 48 hours and the HCA will be an integral part of the support these whanau will receive.
About you
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
- Have experience working with whanau and the infant period
- Commit to ongoing education and development
- Be a team player
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Hold a clean full New Zealand driver licence
- Be eligible to work in New Zealand.
